Function 4: Controlling The Operation Of The Ship And Care For Persons On Board At The Management Level
This approved training course for chief engineer and second engineer officer covers the requirements of paragraph 2.2 of Regulation III/2 of the 1978 STCW Convention as amended in 1995 and Section AIII/ 2 of the STCW Code for the function Marine Engineering at the Management Level.

Training Methodology:
This course shall be delivered using the classroom as well as laboratory mode of instructions. One Lead Instructor shall deliver the Classroom Instruction and an Assistant Instructor shall assist the Lead Instructor particularly during Laboratory Instructions.
Certificate of Training:
Successful Trainees shall be awarded with certificates of completion, attesting to their successful completion of the course, in partial fulfillment of the requirements set forth by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the eventual issuance of the Certificate of Competency at the Management Level.
Entry requirements:
This course is primarily intended for Marine Engineer Officers aiming to become certified as Management level Officers, to gain Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineers and Second Engineers. Open to marine engineer officers who are holders of STCW ’95 at the operational level with at least six (6) months of seagoing service on that capacity.
