BASIC MARINE ELECTRICAL SCIENCE


This course is designed to comply with the requirements of the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping as amended in 1995 (STCW ’95). This intends to  address parts of STCW Code Table AIII/ 2 Function: Marine Engineering at the Management Level and Table AIII/ 1 Function: Marine Engineering at the Operational Level. The aforesaid requirements are further detailed in the STCW Code Table AIII/ 2.7 and AIII/ 1.8 necessitating the need to strengthen the  fundamental knowledge in marine electrotechnology, electronics, and electrical equipment.


Objectives:

This training course aims to impart and strengthen the necessary fundamental electrical knowledge to potential candidates to be able to apply fundamental electric principles in describing and analyzing electrical circuits leading to a better operational and troubleshooting skills.

Instructor’s Manual, and Electrical Training Equipment


Entry Standards:

At least Operational Level Officers


Certificate of Training:

On successful completion of the course and active participation in group work, a document shall be issued certifying that the holder has completed a course of training in Basic Marine Electrical Science.
