Simulator Training in Cargo Handling
for VLCC Double Hull
This Course is designed to comply with the requirements of the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping as amended in 1995 (STCW ’95) particularly on the provisions stated therein that the requirements for planning and ensuring safe loading, care during the voyage and unloading of cargoes as well as maintaining seaworthiness of the ship regarding trim, stability and stress.

Training Level:
Basic Cargo Handling Operation for Junior Officers, Advanced Cargo Handling Operation for Senior Officers, Critical Cargo Handling Operation for Masters and Senior Officers.
Training Methodology:
This course shall be delivered using the classroom as well as laboratory mode of instructions using Kongsberg Cargo Handling Simulators.
Model Description:
The new VLCC model is based on a real double hull vessel. It includes four load/discharge lines, pumps with vacuum strip as well as one ejector and a stripping pump. A separate ballast pump is fitted. Inert gas is made from flue gas, and run through a scrubber. The cargo temperature and density can be set individually. Water and sediments will fall out over time. Tank atmosphere data is calculated continuously. The model has both online and offline stress calculations.
Certificate of Training:
Successful Trainees shall be awarded with certificates of completion, attesting to their successful completion of the course.

5 days for each training level
