Simulator Training in Cargo Handling
for LNG Carrier

This Course is designed to comply with the requirements of the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping as amended in 1995 (STCW ’95) particularly on the provisions stated therein that the requirements for planning and ensuring safe loading, care during the voyage and unloading of cargoes as well as maintaining seaworthiness of the ship regarding trim, stability and stress.

Training Methodology:

This course shall be delivered using the classroom as well as laboratory mode of instructions using Kongsberg Cargo Handling Simulators.

Model Description:

The CHSLNG model is based on a real LNG tanker. The model consists of five spherical Moss Rosenberg tanks able to take fully refrigerated cargoes. A compressor room is fitted with two high duty compressors and two lowduty compressors. Several Cargo heaters/vaporizers are also fitted in the compressor room. A separate ballast system is fitted, and a nitrogen generator as well as an inert gas generator with dryer system. The cargo temperature and environment data may be set individually. Tank atmosphere and temperature data is calculated continuously. Boiling off operation is also a natural part of the scenario.

Certificate of Training:

Successful Trainees shall be awarded with certificates of completion, attesting to their successful completion of the course.
