
SHIPHANDLING AND MANEUVERING IN CRITICAL CONDITIONS (ADVANCE SSBT)
This course is essentially practical with advanced application of shiphandling techniques and consists of a series of exercises with increased complexities to provide realistic practice during critical conditions performed on a Ships Bridge Simulator Systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime Simulation Systems AS for Experienced Marine Deck Officers.
Objectives:
A trainee successfully completing this course will be able to eliminate accident and incident possibilities through identification of various critical conditions.
Course Content:
Simulator System Overview; NSCPi Training Concept; Basic Principles; Familiarization with the Bridge; Standard Maneuvers; Wind and Current Effects; Shallow Water Effects; Bank, Channel and Interaction Effects; Anchoring and Single Buoy Mooring; Planning and Carrying Out a Voyage; Principles and Practice of Bridge Resource Management.

Training Methodology:
Classroom Instructions, Computer Based Instructions, and Dynamic Real Time Simulation Certificate of Training shall be given to each candidate who successfully completed the course and passed the Simulator Exercise Assessment (SEA) System. This system is a builtin, computerized objective assessment using relevant parameters.
Entry requirements:
Experienced Marine Deck Officers and have completed training in radar/ARPA operation.
