When we were divided into teams, each group has carefully planned out different strategies in accomplishing the goal. The goal was to plant at least 500 mahogany trees in one hour, however, the team that planted the most number of trees wins.

Of high interest to note was the plan to have a piece of rope with overhand knot every 1.2 meters to be used for quick measurement of the distances and for alignment at the same time. This plan worked for its main intention.

Some volunteered to carry on tasks that where beyond their capacity for the benefit of others while some simply took on the challenge. There were surprise challenges such as the distance of travel by the Transporters from seedling bank to planting area, the quality of the soil, obstructions along the way and many others. Some of the teams failed to plan for these challenges, however, other teams were quick in adopting new plans for better results. One of the significant demonstration of change of plans was adopting a relay mode of transporting the seedlings by the Transporters. This proved to be a winning strategy (adaptation).

Though it was a fact that each team had their advantages and disadvantages over the other, everyone took the challenge head on with various strategies that maximizes their resources and to the best of their ability. Some teams planned on converting the weaknesses to strengths such as assigning members of the team with lesser endurance to tasks that were not physically challenging like the roles of the Administrator and Verifier. The Administrators and Verifiers were the decision makers on declaring the winning team, somehow, a task with great responsibilities. This plan also worked.

I took the liberty to propose that each team should work hard equally so that there is no need to have losers at the end of the challenge, we all can win this competition, it was possible and it can be done. In the end, although some teams accomplished more than others, it was the total end result that everyone was a winner.
